About Shane

Shane Mathis (Atlanta, GA) has always had a passion for the art  of music. He grew up in a musically-inclined family. His great-grandfather was a professional opera singer while at the same time, he and Shane’s great-grandmother performed in churches all over the Atlanta area. Shane’s grandmother was also an established Gospel singer, played piano and tenor saxophone, and has sung in choirs all her life. You could say music is genetically apart of Shane’s DNA!

At the age of thirteen Shane was heavily influenced by his grandmother’s gospel trio, New Day, and from there a love of all things Gospel was born. It was at this age he decided to embark on the journey of becoming a successful Gospel singer. While performing full time in his high school’s performing arts program, Shane balanced a life fully devoted to the call of sharing God’s word through singing Gospel music. Within those 4 years Shane produced 3 professional CDs, aired live on gospel radio, and was a guest star on Don Frost’s TV show “Music City Gospel Showcase” in Atlanta on channel 57.

Shane has opened for and/or performed with Adam Crabb, Jason Crabb, Gerald Crabb, The Hoppers, Naomi & The Segos, The Greene’s, Crystal River, The Inspirations, The Hinson’s, The McKameys, The Sneed Family, Triumphant Quartet, Primitive Quartet, Kingsmen Quartet, and More!
