As a child growing up I always loved being the center of attention! Yes I know its hard to believe that me, of all people, were like that! I always loved acting and putting on little performances while family and friends gathered around to watch. It wasn’t until middle school though that I had the chance to put my performance abilities to the test in front of a live audience! It was Trickum Middle School’s production of Alice Through the Looking Glass and I had the role of the Mad Hatter!
It was during this time that it occurred to me that I had the ability to grab people’s attention with the sound of my voice and make them laugh with the humor of my infectious personality! Entering high school (Parkview, Lilburn, Ga) I continued to follow this newly found love of singing and acting by enrolling in Parkview’s Performing Arts Program. It was there that I was taught by professionals how to have control and maintain a healthy voice while looking good on a stage!
Always growing up in a church-rooted and musically-inclined family I thought I could possibly transfer what I had learned from high school into a way of sharing my faith in Jesus Christ. Ever sense then, performing Southern Gospel music has been my profession while adding religious humor and comedy into my routine to where I had a show that I could relate to others and at the same time share the Gospel of Jesus! I love singing for multiple reasons – but the main one is this: my main purpose of existence is to PRAISE my Lord!
Luke 19:40 reminds us, “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quite, the stones will cry out.”
